WNBA rescinds Caitlin Clark's eighth technical, averting suspension
Source confirms that Caitlin Clark's technical foul today -- her eighth of the season -- has been rescinded by the WNBA. Story to come.
But muh conspiracy (This is absolutely the right choice, the bump was an obvious accident. The classic sports official power trip.)
Didn't she make contact with the ref?
Expecting Bluesky to be normal about a ridiculous tech being rescinded swiftly is probably a bit much. The Performative App of Sports!
Thank you President Trump 🙌!
White in the world could have happened 🤔
The one that would have kept her off an ESPN national game.
this league is such a mess bsky.app/profile/nort...
Caitlin Clark had 8th technical foul rescinded; won't be suspended Tuesday. #WNBA
Btw this is what Dijonai meant with that thread
If a player did to her what she did to that ref those ppl would call for the police & congressional investigations.
The arena hadn't even emptied out before they made that decision.
If course. All the commercials are on her, when they break the cameras are on her. Enough people. She will not be selected as wnba best
All her techs are for complaining and saying stupid shit. She just needs to stop complaining to the refs on every fucking play.
Darn… she will get another soon…
News: WNBA has rescinded the technical foul on Caitlin Clark, which would’ve been her eighth of the season — and an automatic one-game suspension, keeping her out of Fever-Liberty on Tuesday. That was fast. Kudos to the league for handling it so quickly.
That ESPN call was loud and FAST.
This seems like the right call but that’s pretty embarrassing for the ref. It’s not like it was mistaken identity or a weird circumstance- the league just said “nah this person sucks at their job and we could tell RIGHT AWAY”
WNBA didn’t have a choice after ESPN bad mouthed them
The initial call appears to be that Clark was perceived to have pushed off the ref with a forearm which is not something players are allowed to do. This is her 8th technical foul. If upheld, she will be suspended. #WNBA
Time to start suspending the officials. They suck in all games especially the fever games. They call on average about 30 fouls on the fever and 22 on opponents. This ref didn’t try to protect herself or try to protect CC. She knew CC has 7 technical fouls. Get some college or HS refs who are better
I can see why. Most players attempt to brace the contact with ref to shield the ref. She didn't really do that. I still think it'll get rescinded though.
Touching an official is an automatic technical foul.
