Thomas Jefferson bicentennial of death noted on July 4
Three of the first five presidents died on the Fourth of July. John Adams and Thomas Jefferson died about five hours apart on Jul. 4, 1826—the Declaration of Independence’s 50th anniversary. James Monroe died on Jul. 4, 1831—the Declaration’s 55th anniversary. Image: Wilmington Star News.
President Thomas Jefferson and President John Adams both died within hours of each other on July 4, 1826, the 50th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence. This July 4th is the 250th anniversary. Anyway, just something to think about!
CW Thomas Jefferson also raped enslaved children, and John Adams passed laws trying to oppress freedom of speech, immigrants, and the press. They were monsters.
Jefferson was 83 (!) and Adams was 90 (!!!) but McDonald’s was still 129 years away, so, yknow, anything can happen
