The Onion released a video titled "HAPPENING NOW: Tim Heidecker Gives A Major Friday Night Update On The Future Of InfoWars" in which comedian Tim Heidecker appears impersonating Alex Jones and delivers a late-night update. In the clip Heidecker says Infowars.com is down, announces he is posting to The Onion's site, and claims he will assume control of Infowars.com within days. The stunt matters because it moves the InfoWars brand into an explicit satirical framing, which could confuse where audiences find InfoWars content and spotlights ongoing satire of Alex Jones.

The only problem I have with the transfer of InfoWars is that it couldn't be done quietly, if only for the fact that it would have been very funny for the fans to either slowly realise how silly it's gotten or slip further out of reality. "I thought the onion was satire" taken to a whole new level
