In 1955 Harper Lee’s friends got together and gave her a full year salary as a Christmas gift so she could take time off and write a book. The book that she wrote was ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’, it was published in 1960 and the rest is history. #TCMParty #ToKillAMockingbird

All the other white folk in #ToKillAMockingbird — the sherriff, the judge, the neighbor woman — view defending a Black man against an obviously fallacious charge of rape as an “unpleasant” job, rather than a righteous calling, and that’s what’s wrong with the white people in this country. #tcmparty

Looking at the cast of To Kill a Mockingbird on Letterboxed @letterboxd.social , Kim Stanley is very far down the list. A shame because her narration is as important to the success of the movie as anything. And that’s saying a lot, because there are many things to praise in Mockingbird. #tcmparty
