fllics.comProject Hail Mary movie praised for heart and Rocky's chemistry
Audiences are praising Ryan Gosling's Project Hail Mary for its warmth and Rocky the alien; domestic gross sits near $307.6M.
Saw Project Hail Mary (again) in a completely empty theater so my friend and I sat on the stairs in the middle of the theater and sang along
now she keeps texting me increasingly specific follow-up questions about Eridian biology and I keep telling her to READ THE BOOK!!!!!!!
Sang along to what? Is it a musical?
After seeing it again I went and made some little PHM proxy cards just because I am rotating this movie in the microwave of my mind, it has captured meeeee (Went for mechanics, not colour ID. Grace being UW provs and the HM herself is probably mono U as a research ship, Rocky RW probs?)
(This was of course about project Hail Mary, and my scorching hot take here is that, I do not feel the book significantly added anything that wasn’t already in the movie. The book is excellent. The movie is excellent. They are both excellent.)
(what I loved about the book was that it was more. I came out of the movie wanting more of the same, and the book was there, waiting for me to do just that.)
One thing I think is funny is that Andy Weir says some people were sad that the courtroom scene isn’t in the movie, but he’s not because he didn’t get the scene fact checked and now gets a bunch of messages from lawyers telling him how wrong it is lol
