Max Verstappen set the fastest lap in sprint qualifying at the Marina Bay Street Circuit, claiming sprint pole with a 1:31.156 that beat George Russell by just over a tenth of a second. Charles Leclerc was third, ahead of Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris, with Lewis Hamilton sixth; the top 10 also included Kimi Antonelli, Liam Lawson, Isack Hadjar and Pierre Gasly. Verstappen’s time is under investigation for an alleged yellow flag infringement after he passed Hamilton on track during SQ1; Hamilton reported the incident over team radio and the stewards have opened a closer review. The session featured two interruptions: Sergio Perez crashed at Turn 4 in SQ1 leaving debris that caused a red flag, and an F1 timing-system problem briefly delayed SQ2 before it resumed. Red Bull made precautionary changes to Verstappen’s RB22 after he experienced an ERS issue earlier in the weekend. If stewards find a breach, Verstappen could lose the sprint pole and the front-row position would move to Russell.
