Sir Rod Stewart, 81, has announced The Final Encore, a farewell tour that he says will be his last after more than 60 years on stage. Stewart said in an emotional statement, "The time has come to say farewell to life on the road," and that The Final Encore "will most definitely be my last." The tour will run from April to July 2027, beginning in Dublin on April 23 and concluding in Hannover on July 24, with stops scheduled in cities including Manchester, London, Berlin, Prague and Amsterdam at the Ziggo Dome. Stewart has been touring this year on a One Last Time tour but pulled out of several performances in June because of an acute upper respiratory infection, laryngitis and vocal strain, then cancelled further dates after undergoing heart surgery. A spokesperson said doctors are pleased with his recovery and that Stewart will take four weeks to recuperate before returning to the stage; he apologised to fans and thanked medical staff for their care.
