FIA opens probes into Red Bull and Williams after Azerbaijan GP

The FIA stewards opened official investigations into Isack Hadjar and Carlos Sainz during the Azerbaijan Grand Prix for possible breaches during practice starts en route to the start grid. Both drivers took the start of the main race while the post-race investigations remained live. Race control said the stewards would not issue a formal ruling or sanction during the race and that any time penalties or warnings would be applied after the checkered flag. Hadjar and Sainz must present themselves to the stewards after the race to answer over the incidents that occurred on the reconnaissance laps to the grid. Any penalties imposed following the hearings will be applied to the race’s final classification.

Max took the yellow turn 15 a LOT faster than George. Gained 3 tenths just there. They both lifted earlier at the apex of turn 14 but Max's corner speed was higher. Would have caused a controversy had he won at the line (which is what race control was hoping for). #F1 #AzerbaijanGP
