Red Bull has confirmed 21-year-old Isack Hadjar will remain Max Verstappen’s team-mate for the 2027 Formula 1 season. Hadjar was promoted to Red Bull’s senior team this year after a rookie campaign with Racing Bulls and recorded his best result with third place at the Monaco Grand Prix. Team principal Laurent Mekies called the decision "an easy decision" and praised Hadjar for being "superb on and off track" during only his second F1 season. Hadjar missed the past three races with a broken wrist sustained while boxing but returns for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Over the first half of the season Hadjar averaged 0.239 seconds slower than Verstappen in qualifying and has out-qualified Verstappen three times, in Australia, Japan and Britain. Verstappen earlier signed a contract extension in August that now runs to the end of 2030.
