politicsSep 13, 202631635

SVT and TV4 exit poll projection at 21.45 local time, using results from about 10% of districts, shows the centre-left opposition narrowly ahead with 51.3% to 46.8% for the rightwing bloc. Party shares in the projection: Social Democrats 27.6%, Moderates 20.0%, Sweden Democrats 17.5%, Left Party 8.2%, Centre Party 7.1%, Christian Democrats 6.3%, Green Party 6.2%, Liberals 5.5%. If confirmed, the outcome would give the opposition bloc 175 seats in the 349-seat Riksdag and the incumbent government 174 seats, a one-seat margin. The projection represents a worse-than-expected night for the Sweden Democrats, whose 17.5% is lower than recent forecasts. The result remains subject to further counting and official tallies before a final government formation can proceed.
