Cam Smith launched a 421-foot, ninth-inning solo home run off Jhoan Duran to give the Houston Astros a 2-1 win over the Philadelphia Phillies. The homer, struck with one out in the ninth, was Smith’s 20th of the season and his third in as many games, turning a tie into a walk-off lead. Christian Javier worked six innings for Houston, and Bryan Abreu provided a strong late outing; Zack Wheeler had delivered another quality start for Philadelphia. Attendance at Citizens Bank Park was 38,642 for the game. The victory left the Astros 75-72 and completed a two-of-three series win in Philadelphia. Smith became the sixth player in Astros history to reach 20 home runs in a season at age 23 or younger, joining Carlos Correa, César Cedeño, Yordan Alvarez, Matt Dominguez, and Jim Wynn.
