Apple unveiled the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, powered by the new A20 Pro system on chip built on a 2-nanometer process. Early Geekbench 7 entries show the iPhone 18 Pro scoring 4,719 single-core and 12,677 multi-core, while the Pro Max entry scores 4,725 single-core and 12,575 multi-core. Those results represent roughly 21 to 23 percent faster single-core and 27 to 28 percent faster multi-core performance versus the A19 Pro in the iPhone 17 Pro, according to the early database listings. The A20 Pro appears as a six-core CPU running at about 4.93 GHz with a seven-core GPU variant that posts roughly 38 to 40 percent faster Metal graphics scores than the A19 Pro's six-core GPU. Apple says the chip includes integrated Neural Accelerators, 50 percent more memory bandwidth, and that new packaging plus a redesigned vapor chamber enable up to 40 percent better sustained performance than the previous generation. MacRumors and the Geekbench entries caution these one-off benchmark results are unconfirmed and do not necessarily reflect prolonged real-world performance as devices ship to customers.
