Anti-migrant boat protesters block roads in Portsmouth and Dover

politicsSep 7, 2026452,411

Police faced off with hundreds of masked, black-clad protesters in Portsmouth after around 140 migrants arrived in a single dinghy, with demonstrators blocking roads and trying to prevent the migrants from leaving the city. Hampshire Police imposed a dispersal order around Eastney Landing ferry port and urged people to avoid the area; anyone failing to comply could be arrested. The government condemned "the intimidating and thuggish behaviour" of the demonstrators. The Portsmouth clashes were the second large-scale anti-migrant protest of the weekend, following action in Dover. Reporting on organisation names Danny Thomas as the organiser of the Dover demonstration and says he was also present in Portsmouth. A UK minister, Emma Reynolds, publicly condemned the hundreds of protesters who blocked streets in Portsmouth.

Ryan Bridge - Founder of "Raise the Colours" flag protests - charged with 14 offences including common assault. Danny Thomas - ringleader of Dover/Portsmouth thuggery - an ex-con jailed for attempted kidnap at knifepoint. Almost like they're not "ordinary people with concerns" but criminals.

The Southport riots in 2024 felt like rage spilling into our streets. The Dover and Portsmouth protests feel far more planned, far more organised. And, frankly, they scare me a hell of a lot more.

Spot on We live about 400m from the Southport riots. They were spontaneous relatively speaking but interconnections between key groups were already there and SM played a big part The Dover 'protests' were planned well in advance using funds from abroad imo. Portsmouth just a piggy back on Dover

The US and Russia are waging a hybrid war against the UK.

Farage was very quick to condemn It’s very neat Reform have a disaster of a conference Danny Tommo’s mob turn up, funded by overseas donations Sight of men on streets in paramilitary get up may push the floating voters back into Reform - as the reasonable solution A pincer movement if like

I posted this on another site- let’s look at it strategically The beginnings of a unofficial citizen militia/paramilitary Organised to dress/come in Not by social media so how Police response is logged: how fast what size riot or regular Laws/actions applied This was a test & a recruitment drive

Where they brought the migrants in at Eastney is a single road leading to the marina and foot ferry. It is surrounded by flats and not much else. Had they used Portsmouth Harbour it would have been easier to block off for the police

I'm not scared, I'm angry. Angry at the mob of racist cowards, the security services, the police and the media reporting. How did the mob hear that a boat load of people would be rescued and taken there and have time to get organised, coordinate wardrobes and get there?

Slightly stronger line on the anti-migrant gangs from No 10 at lobby just now: Condemning "intimidating and thuggish behaviour" in Dover & Portsmouth as "absolutely unacceptable" & condemned unreservedly Right to peaceful protest is respected "but not where it crosses the line into disorder"
