Rafael Devers belted a 403-foot solo home run off Braves starter Bryce Elder in the top of the first inning to give the San Francisco Giants a 1-0 lead and end Elder's bid for a perfect game. The homer registered a 107.3 mph exit velocity and a 31-degree launch angle and was Devers' 30th of the season, giving him his fifth career 30-homer campaign. This is the first time in Devers' career he has recorded 30-plus homers in consecutive seasons. Devers reached 30 before September, and his milestone follows Willy Adames reaching 30 on the final day of 2025, marking the Giants' having 30-homer hitters in consecutive seasons after a long drought from 2005 through 2024. MLB.com covered the game and noted Devers' long ball helped power the Giants in the makeup matchup in Atlanta.
