Novak Djokovic upset by Mariano Navone, out in US Open 1st round
Djokovic losing in the first round at the US Open feels like it might be the end of an era. He hadn't lost in the first round of a Grand Slam in 20 years (!!!)
dude, he was crying in the last set. I think we just watched father time show up.
Should have gotten this year’s flu shot
He's 39. It's done. The greatest Olympian ever, Sir Steve Redgrave, won his last Olympic medal at 38, and that was insane (and he knew it). This is not a surprise to anyone but him.
He was a mess. Hung in there til the bitter end. Not sure who he was punishing.
Novak will be out of the top 10 at the end of the tournament - the first time none of the Big Three were top 10 was in 2002. For context, Alcaraz was born in 2003.
What about Scottie Scheffler passing Tiger Woods on the all-time money list - Woods was on top of that list for 20 years...
I have zero sympathy for Djokovic, because I’m sure his anti vaccine antics during COVID wound up getting some of his fans killed Yes, he was a great player. But his careless arrogance-not his playing career-should always define him
Huge respect for #Djokovic in regards to tennis excellence. Disappointed in his health narrative. I respect science, vaccines, worldwide health support, global well being.
Glad I was able to see what might be Djokovic's last US Open match. And now, for Venus Williams???
Novak Djokovic loses in the U.S. Open first round for the first time, falling in five sets to Mariano Navone. It was the longest opening match of a Grand Slam in Djokovic’s career.
RFK’s gonna cut his pecker off
