Red Sox extend win streak to 14 after Caleb Durbin's 8th-inning homer

Caleb Durbin's go-ahead solo home run in the bottom of the eighth lifted the Boston Red Sox to a 6-5 win over the Baltimore Orioles on Monday, extending Boston's winning streak to 14 games. The Red Sox came from behind three separate times in the game, capitalizing on two Orioles errors and an opposite-field RBI double by Wilyer Abreu that helped build a 3-1 lead in the third. Rookie left-hander Payton Tolle struck out nine and worked into the sixth inning before allowing a three-single rally that produced two runs and put Baltimore ahead briefly. The Orioles opened the scoring on a Gunnar Henderson double and an RBI ground-rule double by Tyler O'Neill, and Christian Encarnacion-Strand hit a solo homer in the fifth and added an RBI later in the sixth. Interim manager Chad Tracy called the win "unbelievable," and Tolle described the clubhouse response as "incredible" after the come-from-behind victory. Boston's 14-game streak also snapped Baltimore's seven-game win streak and leaves the Red Sox one victory shy of matching the franchise record 15-game streak set April 25 to May 10, 1946; Boston will try to tie that record in the next game against Baltimore.

Probably not, but I remember when Dustin Pedroia was hitting .150 in May and won Rookie of the Year.

Pedroia had a rough start too but he was homegrown and it seemed as though everyone was still pulling for him. Durbin had everything going against him. Have to give him a lot of credit. Glad for him and Sox.
