12 states sue to block Paramount’s Warner Bros. takeover

Paramount is reportedly considering leaving California if the state’s Attorney General sues to stop its proposed takeover of Warner Bros. That’s all the more reason to stop Paramount from amassing even more power.

I joined a coalition of AGs to sue to block Paramount Skydance’s proposed $110 billion acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery. This merger will create a media behemoth capable of controlling the film/tv industry. States are once again filling the antitrust enforcement void left by the Trump DOJ.

No doomerism. Let's hope that this stops the merger. The Warner Bros/Paramount merger will kill jobs, destroy competition, and put more entertainment, beloved IPs, and news in the hands of right-wing billionaires. Nothing good will come from it.

Competition is the heartbeat of a vibrant entertainment industry, just as it is the lifeblood of a healthy economy. We are taking Paramount and Warner Bros. to court to preserve competition in an industry that has the power to make us laugh, cry, question, and take action.
