Anthrocon underway in Pittsburgh

Anthrocon opened in downtown Pittsburgh on July 1, 2026, with the mayor officially designating the date as Anthrocon Day. The convention features a Dealers Den, a packed art show and programmed panels, plus fursuit meetups and multiple public fursuit roaming events. Organizers published five designated headless zones including DLCC Room 302-305, DLCC Hall A (Dealers), the DLCC East Lobby street level, Westin 3rd Floor, and the Courtyard Marriott Lobby on Saturday afternoon only. Artists are debuting new work this weekend, including The Basilisk Hunters, an 11 by 14 inch oil with 24 karat gold leaf, while one exhibitor said they have 31 pictures entered and another set up at Dealers Den tables Q3-6. Attendees reported a heat wave in Pittsburgh with a head-index near 109 that has many fursuiters carrying their heads between appearances. A minor transportation scare occurred when an attendee reported a Pittsburgh city bus backed into a red SUV downtown but no damage was reported.

ehhhhh the pizza here is mid ngl, nothing like NJ or NYC Pizza Parma is ok plus they love the furries a LOT Benny Fiero's in South Side is pretty good, they do 30+ inch cheese pizza pies for $42, though u have to pick em up in person

my favorite thing about pittsburgh is that anthrocon is the biggest event in the city and therefore when it happens all the local politicians make videos with furries due to how important it is to the local economy
