Toy Story 5 has grossed about $585 million worldwide in its first 10 days, continuing a strong box-office run with a second-weekend take near $70 million and roughly $297 million domestically to date. Warner Bros.′ Supergirl opened far behind, earning about $38 million in the U.S. and roughly $68 million worldwide in its debut weekend. Industry coverage frames Supergirl's weak start as a significant setback for Warner Bros.′ revamped DC movie operations. Box-office trackers also noted that other new releases such as Jackass: Best and Last and Minions and Monsters underperformed relative to Toy Story 5. The gap between Toy Story 5 and Supergirl has already shifted weekend rankings and intensified scrutiny of release positioning and marketing for the DC slate.

Took the youngest kid to their first movie theater today. Saw Toy Story 5 at the Riverview. That place kicks so much ass. $5 tickets, cheap concessions, house full of other families with young kids.

If female superhero leads are important to you, you might consider buying a ticket even if you have to suffer. It kind of sounds like Hollywood is thinking female superheros don't drive movie sales, and that's a problem.

Marvel saturated the market with their content and people started realizing it's the same plot over and over. Also, the movie theater experience is horrible. Especially when we have all the features a movie theater has at home plus a pause button..

Personally I would have waited a week or 2 to put Supergirl in a much more comfortable spot to debut because should should never put any movie against a Disney movie especially if it's a movie like Toy Story... But I don't make those decisions.

Much to my amazement, I thoroughly enjoyed TOY STORY 5 from start to finish. Probably my favorite one since the first. There was no let up in the story and the mixture of heart and humor with some spectacular animation made it very satisfying. 1/x
