Apple unveils Siri AI with dedicated app at WWDC

At WWDC on June 8, 2026 Apple unveiled Siri AI, a Gemini-powered conversational assistant that will ship as a standalone Siri app with on-screen awareness and a public beta later in 2026. Apple described Siri AI as an LLM-based upgrade to the old Siri, designed to interpret visible screen content and produce richer conversational answers. The dedicated app lets Siri read on-screen context to answer questions about what’s displayed and provide deeper responses across apps. This matters because Apple is treating Siri as a first-class integrated AI product, accelerating assistant capabilities and giving developers a concrete beta timeline to build against.

Here is tl;dr - Apple focused heavily on performance, lots of papercut fixes - Did a bunch of work on child safety and parental controls - Huge improvements to Siri(AI) and overall Apple Intelligence: mostly good things in search/personal context, powered by spotlight, a few weird ones.
