WWDC26 opens with macOS 27 'Golden Gate' preview and Apple Intelligence logo
At WWDC26, Tim Cook opened the keynote by previewing macOS 27 "Golden Gate" and showing a new Apple Intelligence logo in the introduction. Apple said the event will center on Apple Intelligence and a redesigned Siri, and highlighted platform-wide updates across IOS 27, iPadOS 27, watchOS, visionOS, and macOS. Apple demonstrated design refinements including Liquid Glass adjustments, a more uniform toolbar and expanded sidebars, and introduced a new Search Architecture that indexes Mail and other content faster. The company emphasized performance improvements that bring IOS 27 to older phones such as iPhone 11, positioning AI and system upgrades to make assistants smarter and everyday tasks faster across devices.
Fascinating to see Apple talk about Apple Intelligence while simultaneously realizing that people don't trust a chatbot that constantly calls the cops on you. I think they realize they have an advantage by virtue of everyone else being radioactive. They just keep saying "PRIVACY".
lol at the part where they say "this will not be available in the EU or China yet"
Being so bad and internal software R&D that they stumble backwards into the right answer of “on device neural processing”
On-device models is reassuring there, but I still wanna know how much of this stuff I can just say "no, go away" to.
Not to mention not trusting “Apple Health” with even having your menstruation 🩸 cycle information from the early days of round two of the TrumptopianHellscape ffs
ive seen a lot of apple services that cater to people that are worried about their digital privacy, even if (or especially if) they dont understand what the privacy features really do. companies have been really big on obfuscating essential online information the past couple of years
