Serena Williams to return at Queen's Club, doubles wildcard
Serena Williams, 44 and a 23-time Grand Slam singles champion, accepted a women's doubles wildcard at the Queen's Club Championships in London. Queen's Club confirmed the entry for the grass-court tournament that serves as a traditional warm-up for Wimbledon. The doubles entry gives Williams competitive grass-court match practice ahead of Wimbledon and raises questions about whether she will pursue a singles comeback.
IT'S OFFICIAL: The GOAT, Serena Serena Williams, will return to tennis with a women’s doubles wild card into Queen’s, the prestigious grass-court tournament played ahead of Wimbledon.
That's a terrible decision by Queens. I not dissing Serena, she was one of the best, but she's had her time. Shouldn't the wild cards be used for up and coming talent?
Always enjoyed watching her play. She was great and so was her sister.
WHY??? Love you Serena but no…you’re my GOAT…there’s nothing left to prove and taking a spot from a youngster isn’t cool…just my opinion 🤷🏾♀️
