Trump channels Reagan as he consolidates control of the Republican Party
Donald Trump is channeling Ronald Reagan's rhetoric as he consolidates control of the Republican Party, steering its messaging and leadership choices while the GOP organizes for the next campaign cycle. State party officials, congressional allies, and campaign strategists are aligning with Trump's themes and endorsements, reshaping primary fields and committee leadership. That consolidation sidelines internal critics and narrows the party's policy priorities toward Trump's agenda, forcing rivals to adopt his playbook or risk marginalization. WHO controls GOP messaging now will determine candidate selection, campaign strategy, and the issues the party pursues nationwide.
The GOP is going to have to spend tens of millions of dollars defending this seat. Meanwhile, the democrats have TONS of free Ken Paxton attack ads made by the National Republican Senate Committee and the Texas Republican Party. Thanks, y'all!
The Dems should use *exactly* the same ads, with different authorisation. Republicans: You can't use those videos, they're copyright! Democrats: Oh, YOU made these? Republicans: ...
"If you think Democrats have nothing good to say about Ken Paxton then just wait till you hear what Republicans have to say about him..."
Democrats will have to spend millions to win it. Marshall is up in KS. Unpopular as hell.Adam Hamilton pastor of a 24,000 member church is running against him. Win that seat and you don't need Texas. KS has elected 3 Dem governors since a Dem last won statewide in Texas. Spread the word.

The cruel hypocrisy of the Republican party is that they believe in their core that government agencies are worthless, inefficient, wasteful, and corrupt... So they elect politicians who ENSURE they are right.
Reagan said Government is the problem, then set about to make it so. I'm paraphrasing. But that's an old and famous line, that's still true today. Only the name has changed.
The absence of government is only a suitable for a society of angels. Too many people who argue for reducing government do so because they want to take unfair advantage. So we either need to get rid of everyone who is not an angel or try to have a government that functions to restrain the non-angels
And the only real inefficient and wasteful agency is the Pentagon. Their waste is in the billions of dollars.
The only reason government agencies are inefficient, wasteful, and corrupt is because Republicans have voted to make it and keep it that way.
They believe in hijacking those agencies to enrich themselves and their supporters, it is about looting the Treasury and nothing else, that is Republicanism.
