Yokoso Scooby‑Doo! anime lands on Tubi with Matthew Lillard, Frank Welker
Tubi picked up Yokoso Scooby-Doo!, an anime-set Scooby-Doo series starring Matthew Lillard as Shaggy and Frank Welker as Scooby-Doo. The show sends Scooby and Shaggy on a foodie tour of Japan that turns into monster hunting after they unwittingly unleash hundreds of mythical creatures. The series introduces new anime-style elements and characters, including a magical girl figure and a corgi named Daisuke-Doo. Because it pairs the franchise's long-running voice actors with an anime approach and Japan-set stories, the pickup marks Scooby-Doo's push into anime-style projects and new audiences.
Tubi has announced ‘YOKOSO SCOOBY-DOO!’, the franchise’s first original anime series. The show follows Scooby-Doo and Shaggy’s adventures in Japan. Frank Welker and Matthew Lillard will reprise their roles as Scooby-Doo and Shaggy.
HE'S NOW OFFICIALLY THE STRONGEST ANIME CHARACTER
I've always wanted to say this: Hold the phone, is Scooby's japanese uncle, Daisuke-Doo, a Shiba Inu?!, HE'S SO CUTE!
Wait, wasn’t this show supposed to be called “Go Go Mystery Machine” when it was first announced?
I already know this will be better than Velma.
Sounds great. I hope Japanese anime companies like Toei Animation, Studio Madhouse, or Studio Trigger get to work on the series.
Wait where's Daphne and Velma? Im assuming Freddy is driving
Yokoso Scooby-Doo!, the next new Scooby-Doo series and the first anime one, has been picked up by Tubi as an original series. OLM, known for their work on Pokemon, Yo-kai Watch, and Berserk, animates. (Yokoso = welcome in Japanese)
Shaggy and Scooby-Doo visit Japan and unwittingly unleash hundreds of mythical monsters causing havoc in the country. Also along for the ride are Scooby's uncle Daisuke-Doo, techie Takumi, and magical girl Yume.
I always forget that Tubi has original shows.
I like how Scooby looks the exact same here. He WAS designed by a Japanese man, after all
