Bird Of The Day, alt theme 'Robins'
The alternate Bird Of The Day prompt for today is Robins, set by cohost Rob, asking contributors to post any robin species. Photographers shared regional robin images, an American robin among spring buds on the U.S. East Coast, a European robin in hazel from Ireland, and a North Island robin photographed in Wellington, along with close-up and early-morning multi-bird shots. Several posts emphasized symbolism and behavior, noting the American robin as a classic sign of spring and capturing perching, stretching and feeding moments. The prompt matters because robins are widespread and easy to spot, making them ideal subjects for quick identification practice, seasonal observation and approachable wildlife photography tips.
The #BirdOfTheDay is #Parenthood. A mama mallard duck and a whole passel of ducklings. #birds #photography #birdsofbluesky
Makes me think of mother's day last year. A mallard hen was raising cane on my end of the street and doing the broke wing display to lire a neighborhood cat away. All her ducklings had fallen down a storm drain and she was very distressed. Local FD showed up with a dip net and reunited them.
Tag yourself: I'm the duckling who's screaming 😆
