FFXIV Fan Fest unveils 'Evercold', universal item level and Evolved Mode
Square Enix unveiled the Evercold expansion for Final Fantasy XIV at Fan Fest and premiered a teaser trailer. The company announced a universal item level shared across all leveled jobs so one set of gear can progress across multiple roles. Developers introduced an Evolved Mode that restructures combat by reducing cross-job synergies so jobs can play more independently. Square Enix also showed character creator updates, changes intended to lower grind and make it easier for players to experiment with different roles.
