Early voting surges, Minnesota sets a record

Minnesota reported record early turnout for the midterm elections as DFL and GOP candidates crisscross the state through Election Day, according to live coverage. State election officials extended early-in-person hours this weekend and reminded voters they can register online and on Election Day with proper documentation at MNVotes.gov. Organizers said Minnesota participation is on pace to match 2018, the highest-turnout midterm in more than a century, and campaigns continued door-knocking in St. Paul and elsewhere. Officials expected a final statewide early-vote report before Election Day to show whether Minneapolis remains ahead of the statewide pace. The record early turnout has kept campaigns active across the state through Nov. 3.
