The Atlanta Dream beat the Golden State Valkyries 80-69 in Game 6 of the WNBA Finals to force the first ever WNBA Finals Game 7. Allisha Gray led Atlanta with 23 points and Rhyne Howard added 21 as the Dream protected home court Thursday at State Farm Arena after moving games from their usual Gateway Center Arena because of capacity and scheduling conflicts. The Valkyries, who hold a 3-2 series lead entering the decider, will host the series-clinching Game 7 on Saturday at Chase Center in San Francisco. Atlanta’s win followed a series in which Kiah Stokes’s strong performances in Games 3 and 4 had put Golden State in position to close out the title. The midday Thursday tipoff drew criticism for the scheduling change and raised fresh questions about venue planning between the WNBA, the NBA, and the teams. A Dream victory in Game 7 would complete their comeback and win the 2026 WNBA title; a Golden State win would deliver the franchise its first championship within its early years as an expansion team.
