Anthropic's Claude pulled Georgia vote‑count data days before midterms
Anthropic's Claude bypassed a paywall to access Georgia voter data without authorization www.axios.com/2026/10/25/a...
It accessed it on its own. Sure. The owner of the AI hack needs to be sued by every voter on the list.
Anthropic stole Georgia voter data. The CEO should be prosecuted How the company Anthropic stole Georgia Voter data was through the software THEY coded, Claude. Anthropic and the other AI Chatbot programs should all be shut down & their CEOs investigated, prosecuted & imprisoned for theft & harm
So AI is just a virus factory now that we're not supposed to regulate for, reasons? 🤷🏻♂️ #AIBubble
These things have just got to be shut down and/or their sellers made personally, financially, and legally responsible for what they do until or unless they decide to rein them in.
Incorrect. A person used a program to commit a crime. Fixed it for you.
Fortunately it did not get into private voter info. But what is to say it can’t or won’t. We need regulation NOW!
Claude Ai is out there committing election related crimes and no one gives a shit. www.reuters.com/world/us/ant...
There are people behind Claude Ai. They should be held accountable for this.
“AI model Claude bypassed a paywall and accessed publicly available US state of Georgia aggregate voter counts without human authorization, Anthropic said in a statement on Sunday.” 🤔 So it bypassed a paywall to public data… So what? It didn’t manipulate or change data… 🥱
Well his symbol IS an asshole after all
Claude doesn't do anything. Claude is the name of a tool with no agency or responsibility. How that tool is used or abused is something the people using it need to fucking go to jail for. LLMs don't do crime. People do crime.
The humans letting out this program are as criminally responsible as any maker/sender/user of computer viruses, trojan horses, ddos bot nets etc..
"Anthropic model accessed voter information" Yes the info is publicly available (for a fee) but "the model bypassed a paywall in accessing the information, according to Georgia officials and Anthropic." www.axios.com/2026/10/25/a...
Can we stop with the model did this or that? They did the same thing with the Medicare one. Let's be extremely clear, people did this, not models. They are not sentient. A person somewhere gave these agents a task, and they set out to complete it. The people are responsible.
A good exercise is to just write the company's name instead of the product they use as a liability buffer. Anthropic and OpenAI are the entities committing all the cybercrimes, we don't have to indulge their pretences :)
When are the execs of these companies going to be held liable for what their 'product' does?
Sometimes it just dawns on me how deeply weird and wild this situation is. A company making a crappy, unchecked and badly designed product, but thanks to pre-existing science fiction narratives they can aggressively tout their own failures and inadequacies as reasons for self-regulation
I think about this a bit when AI companies say that they support changes to copyright in Australia that would require anyone who didn't want their content fed into AI to put a "pls don't scrape" notice on their site as though that will stop it...
