St. Louis City SC beat Columbus Crew 0-0 after 120 minutes and won the 2026 U.S. Open Cup 5-3 on penalties. Daniel Edelman converted the decisive spot kick to seal the shootout. Goalkeeper Ben Lundt made key saves in the shootout and had earlier been credited with penalty heroics for City during this Cup run. The victory is St. Louis City SC's first trophy in club history. The win also restores the Open Cup to St. Louis, marking the 11th U.S. Open Cup title claimed by a St. Louis side and the city’s seventh different champion. Yoann Damet, the club’s young head coach, presided over the run that delivered the trophy to CITY.
