Broadcaster Amol Rajan, 43, said he “played the wrong game” after becoming the first participant to be murdered on the BBC series Celebrity Traitors. Rajan was targeted by secret traitors Richard E Grant and Maya Jama during Thursday’s episode, while comedian James Acaster was recruited as the third traitor. Speaking on the spin-off show The Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked on Friday, Rajan said he wished he had been chosen as a traitor and that, having spent a day as a faithful, he believes he would have been “quite a good traitor.” Rajan acknowledged his on-screen role as “the journalist who asks all the awkward questions” and said he tried to “shut up” to avoid early elimination. He also critiqued Richard E Grant’s accidental slip that revealed his traitor identity as an unusual tactical error. Celebrity Traitors continues Thursdays at 8pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
