Las Vegas Aces eliminate Indiana Fever, advance to WNBA semifinals

The No. 3 seed Las Vegas Aces defeated the No. 6 seed Indiana Fever 94-83 in Game 3 to win the first-round series 2-1. A'ja Wilson led Las Vegas with 36 points and 10 rebounds, making 12 of 15 free throws and playing 37 minutes as the Aces closed the game on a 12-3 run. Chelsea Gray scored 23 points, played all 40 minutes and delivered 11 points in the fourth quarter, while Jackie Young finished the series averaging 23.3 points, 7.3 assists and 4.7 rebounds. Indiana’s Caitlin Clark scored 18 points, blocked four shots and had a game-high six turnovers, and Aliyah Boston posted a 19-point, 10-rebound double-double. Las Vegas shot 45 percent from the field, hit 8 of 20 threes and converted 28 of 35 free throws; Indiana shot 38 percent and made 9 of 32 threes. The Aces will face either the No. 2 seed Golden State Valkyries or the No. 7 seed Dallas Wings in the best-of-five semifinals, with that opponent decided after Game 3 between Golden State and Dallas on Friday and semifinals starting Sunday.

Caitlin Clark is a great shooter and playmaker (and less great defender) and Sophie Cunningham is a decent enough defender to be in the league but last night A'ja Wilson put up 36 (and 10 boards) to eliminate Indy and remind everyone what top-tier talent looks like. www.espn.com/wnba/story/_...
