The Last of Us moment sparked when Naughty Dog said two new Last of Us projects are in very early development and confirmed Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet will not be fully revealed until 2027. Posts zero in on the studio promise that both projects will expand the canon beyond Part I and II, with a lot of speculation orbiting Joel and Tommy and the possibility of material tied to Part III. The response is split between excitement about more story in that world and sharp concerns about studio burnout and the toll of long development on staff, even as some praise Intergalactic as the studio's most ambitious project.
