Lando Norris apologised to Franco Colapinto after saying the Argentine should be banned for causing an accident at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Colapinto locked up at a restart, slid into team-mate Pierre Gasly and Gasly then hit Norris, with all three drivers retiring from the race. Colapinto said he was "sorry" for his "big mistake," but Norris had told BBC Radio 5 Live, "Give him a ban. It's quite simple." In an Instagram message Norris said he was wrong to make those comments, that emotions were running high, and that he had sent Colapinto a personal apology. Norris said they had reached a good understanding, remained friends and were "both excited to get back racing this weekend." Colapinto received a 10-second penalty during the race which, because he had already retired, has been converted into a five-place grid drop he will serve at the Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia this weekend.
