sportsSep 27, 202624257

The Chicago White Sox beat the Colorado Rockies 4-2 in the season finale to finish 84-78 and clinch an American League wild-card berth. Anthony Kay allowed one run across five innings, and Randal Grichuk and Brenton Doyle each hit two-run homers in the win. Trevor Richards recorded 10 outs in relief as the Sox closed out the regular season. The wild-card series against the Houston Astros begins Tuesday with Games 1 and 2 scheduled for 4:00 p.m. CT and airing on Peacock or NBCSN; Peacock costs $12.99 per month. NBC will use local analysts on the national telecast, with Steve Stone on the White Sox series call.

Please put their records next to them to illustrate how stupid the MLB system is.

This is a joke. MLB needs to revisit seeding if two of the three divisions are abjectly terrible.

How many of these teams have no business being in the playoffs? I'd argue at least three, but probably four or five.

Sox are always down low at the start of the day but when everything's done and put away their drawer's at the top, baby

The White Sox are going to get a fully rested Houston squad. We rested our team (17 different starters, 20 different relievers, 12 center fielders, 5 first basemen, 1 general manager). It’s over for you, pale hose.

White Sox beat the Rockies, 4-2 Randal Grichuk and Brenton Doyle both homered. Anthony Kay went five strong innings. Trevor Richards got 10 outs. Sox finish 84-78. It sure looks like they're headed to Houston.

The White Sox have made the playoffs 12 times in their history. They’ve only played one team multiple times. And it’s the Astros, THREE times.

Munetaka Murakami to Japanese media “I think everything is an experience. Going through this long stretch where I couldn’t hit, and then being able to hit like this, that’s an experience too. I don’t know what tomorrow will bring, but all I can do is keep going and keep building on it.” #WhiteSox

Pretty solid broadcast teams. I say again NBC is so much better than ESPN was in this Sunday Night Baseball/Wildcard round spot and they should really be embarrassed.

I really don't care if the #whitesox win or not today, they just need to get through this game and rest the bullpin. Shit, have the bat boys pitch for the team. The Sox need quality pitching to even compete in the post season.

To end the season only one game out of first (c'mon KC, you win now?) and in the playoffs is a huge success after the heartache of the past 4 years. Great job #WhiteSox.
