Government weighs building baseball facility in Grand Teton National Park

sportsSep 27, 2026392,409

Major League Baseball has approached the Trump administration about hosting a regular-season game in a national park, and administration officials scouted locations inside Grand Teton National Park for a possible ballpark, the Washington Post reported. National Park Service Deputy Director Frank Lands visited Grand Teton this week and inspected three potential sites within the park’s boundaries, according to public posts citing the report. Two people familiar with the matter told the Post that an agency official has been scouting Grand Teton as a possible site, and White House and MLB officials confirmed MLB made the request. Conservation groups and local officials responded sharply; NPCA director Betsy Buffington called the idea ludicrous and county officials warned the Tetons are about wildlife and solitude, not commercial development. The Post says the administration is weighing the proposal while the Park Service examines the locations, a process that would determine whether the park could be used for a constructed ballpark to host an MLB game.
