Brock Purdy completed 15 of 16 passes for about 200 yards with two passing touchdowns and a perfect 158.3 passer rating as the San Francisco 49ers rolled past the Miami Dolphins. George Kittle, Christian McCaffrey and Purdy all scored, and the 49ers led 21-6 early in the third quarter. Kittle’s touchdown was his first since he tore his Achilles in the playoffs last season; he finished the sequence with two catches for 52 yards and appeared all the way back. Miami engineered two long drives but settled for short field goals at the end of each, leaving the Dolphins unable to keep pace. A 49ers rushing score by Purdy also featured in the game script, and the dominant offensive display followed San Francisco’s 27-7 opener. With the win the 49ers opened the home slate emphatically and extended a hot start to the season.
