Ukraine's Operation Vivaldi reclaims territory near Lyman
🇺🇦 The Defense Forces liberated another 43.5 km² and two settlements as part of Operation Vivaldi.
DeepState is so, so late... aside that, they paint far too many territories as "russian controlled", and many in places where it should be contested. Even russian propagandists like Rybar on their maps are acknowledging UA presence on other side of Zherebets.
AFU has already crossed the Zherebets
In the Lyman direction, OPSEC continues to be gradually lifted bit-by-bit. The Ukrainian recapture of Shandryholove and Derylove occurred over a month ago.
To what extent is this the result of the campaign of systematic destruction of logistic support to the frontline? We've seen and heard already months and months ago that Ukraine was extending 'the grey zone' and destroy logistical support and this should have helped greatly softening up the Russians
Your stand of information is outdated
⚡️Ukraine reveals new Operation Vivaldi gains in Donetsk Oblast Ukraine's 3rd Army Corps said it has liberated a further 40 square kilometers (15.4 square miles) of territory in Donetsk Oblast, as well as retaking several villages during the ongoing Operation Vivaldi offensive.
40 square km here, 240 near Lyman, nobody announcing it until the flags are already up. That radio silence is the tell. The 3rd Corps is doing this without a press tour, and Moscow is finding out the same way everyone else does.
We♥️🇺🇦! Sorry for our B.S. 💔🇺🇲
Ukrainian soldiers are fearless all power to you!
DeepState has begun gradually revealing Ukrainian advances achieved during Operation Vivaldi on the Lyman axis. So far, around 43 km² of territory has been newly marked as under Ukrainian control, showing part of the Ukrainian operation to cut back the Russian salient north of Lyman.
DeepState looks very slow, and in general, theyre inferior to Project Owl control map : www.google.com/maps/d/viewe...
Every time when in the front zone regions, I visit Sviatohirsk. In 2024 the bridge across the Siversky Donets and many new fortifications were built eastward, and it all looked relatively calm. Then it all went into reverse. I hope Russia will never capture or destroy Sviatohirsk ever again.
Everything West of the Zherebets is under Ukrainian control. 450 kilometers of territory liberated including key villages.
Want to read about Operation Vivaldi, the Ukraine counter-offensive that is driving a wedge through Russian forces on the battlefield? “Russian forces have been defeated and disorganised.”
Vivaldi results from drone warfare and maneuver finally syncing up. That wedge isnt just ground, its the orc command chain coming apart at the seams.
They already retaked a lot more but still secret. Rushists say they defeat Ukranian forces... 😂
A strategy for every season.
No wonder Putin looks so desperate.
Ukraine’s 3rd Army Corps liberated Shandryholove and Derylove and established full control over Drobysheve during Operation Vivaldi, commander Andriy Biletskyi says. Across two phases of the offensive, 125 km² returned to Ukrainian control, including 50 km² of deoccupied territory. #Ukraine
Step by step, Ukraine is recovering all its country and so Putin & Trump evil association is losing! (by the way, weird alliance as Trump supports Putin but Putin helps Iran to kill American soldiers... treason?)
125 km² and three settlements back, with infiltration tactics flipping the script on the orcs. Biletskyis corps proving Ukraine still writes the tempo, not just holds the line.
and some people dare say that firing of that spy thing fedorov was a mistake and we're nowhere without him stupidity
Still somewhat OLD news, no doubt for OPSEC reasons. The actual operations are going on quite a bit further east.
Free weekend update, a crystallizing week. There are areas where the US is helping Russia and areas where the Ukrainians are showing the initiative. Also, Trump really pulls out the stops to help protect the Russian oil industry--with some laughable lies. phillipspobrien.substack.com/p/weekend-up...
i'd say the ukrainians actually do "listen to the usa when the american president pleads with them to stop their most effective strategic campaign" and that's why they continue with their strikes on refineries. they have the cards, now.
Do you have any insights or opinion on the latest scandal around the Prosecutor General vs. the Anti-Corruption agency? After the Fedorov situation, where Fedorov also appeared to be of questionable motivation and alignment in the end, assessment from the outside is even more difficult.
Shielding the refineries while Kyiv reaches Yamal is the whole policy in one frame: Washington guards the war budget, Ukrainian drones audit it.
"the big advantage that the Russians have is the one provided by the USA—which is doing nothing to help Ukraine in this vital area, and indeed is stringing the Ukrainians along and leaving them exposed."
Good reminder of how Trump helps Putin as much as possible. “Donald Trump came out and pleaded with the Ukrainians to do Putin a favor and stop attacking Russian refineries.”
"One study is that the Iran War has caused three times the reduction in world diesel supplies as that caused by the #Ukrainian campaign against #Russian oil. However, #Trump decided to blame the Ukrainians and help #Putin..."
Nyttig oppdatering om Operasjon Vivaldi.
"Zoals altijd bij Trump is Oekraïne de slechterik en moet Rusland worden beschermd. Dat zal nooit veranderen."
Ukrainians forces have recently announced a successful counterattack in the Lyman area. Operation Vivaldi weakens Russia’s ability to take Donetsk In this post I ask if this is a turning point and what it tells us about this stage of the land war. samf.substack.com/p/operation-...?
One of the most underreported stories is how Ukraine over months has managed to retake this vital Donbas sector. Russia is now losing 40,000 soldiers per month, while ALSO losing ground (and burning up the economy). After the fake elections it's time for the Russian people to speak out about Putin.
Now we're talking.. "Ukraine’s Operation Vivaldi, which has reversed a year’s worth of Russian gains in the Lyman sector, asking what this tells us about how the war is currently being fought and whether this can be considered a turning point."
New post from @ldfreedman.bsky.social A successful Ukrainian counterattack in Donetsk has recovered much of the territory Russia managed to win in the past year. How did they do it? Is a turning point on the frontline or will Russia adapt? samf.substack.com/p/operation-...
Always enjoy it when @ldfreedman.bsky.social quotes Russian military bloggers panicking.
Some great details in here
Interesting as usual. I've been thinking for a while that these Russian battlefield reversals, albeit small, haven't received enough attention (maybe because Ukraine has stopped trumpeting its plans in advance via social media?) That said, this war has been a history of pendulum swings since 2022.
How I imagine every Ukrainian counterattack.
