FBI memo warns ICE agents targeted by fake 'tradwife' profiles

newsSep 17, 202639513

The FBI in Chicago circulated an internal memo in February warning that, as of late January 2026, a small group of women were allegedly creating fictitious online dating profiles with a 'traditional wife' aesthetic to attract and then dox law enforcement officers involved in immigration enforcement. The memo, described as a situational information report and labeled "not finally evaluated intelligence," said the profiles aimed to lure officers into online or in-person interactions and then publicly expose them to generate embarrassment and deter immigration enforcement. The document did not name dating sites, give locations, or say whether any agents were actually exposed, and it did not identify the source of the information. Property of the People obtained the memo through a public records request and shared it with the Guardian. The FBI declined detailed comment, saying it routinely shares information to protect officers; the Department of Homeland Security did not respond to requests for comment. Weeks before the memo the New York Post ran a story saying activists were organizing to expose agents, a report the FBI memo followed but did not substantively corroborate.

NEW: FBI warned law enforcement across the US that women with fake "tradwife" profiles were luring ICE agents on dating sites to "dox" + "embarrass" them. FBI didn't provide evidence, but the internal memo is one of many raising alarms about anti-ICE activist "threats." w/ @propertyofthepeople.org
