Calling it just StarCraft makes absolutely no sense. StarCraft isn't a shooter! It's not even the same genre as original StarCraft! I've always hated when companies retitle their games with the original. This has to be just a preproduction name otherwise it's infuriating.

I, for one, appreciate the 2030 announcement rather than a game slated for an earler release then likely pushed back into 2030 anyway. This is also backed up by the mention of games being "on time" in the interview. Yeah, I like this clean and honest approach.

This feels like a mandate from on high that the old "it'll ship when it's ready" stuff won't fly any more. Also having huge gold mine franchises sitting in limbo for 12+ years (e.g. Diablo, Starcraft) won't fly either.

Caught the Diablo V panel stream, a few takeaway nuggets below. Still kind of surprised to see it coming so "soon" but interested to see what they've announced come together like the caravan system as a mobile campfire and how Diablo's influence in a ruined Sanctuary will mess with your head.

* Diablo returns following a "golden age" after Mephisto's defeat in Lord of Hatred
* Procedural dungeons/areas will return
* You are the heir to Westmarch
* "Caravan" instead of a set town b/c everything is ruined; NPCs will join it
* New class mentioned (with many more coming): Plague Knight
* Itemization: item tiers, will grow with you as in Diablo II
* Gear based sets return
* Experimenting with stat requirements on gear (NOT FINAL)
