Jhené Aiko has released her fourth album, Westside Whimsy, out now and credited with 20 tracks that revisit West Coast soul and California road themes. The record features guest appearances from Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul and Larry June, with Aiko and Kendrick reuniting after 13 years on the duet "So Good." Aiko also issued the song "Stay Ready (What A Life)" alongside the album. Critics and listeners in sample posts note the album arrives six years after Chilombo and describe a mostly Sunday-afternoon pace across the project, with a few standout moments such as "Ceiling (Freestyle)." Early reporting and posts say Westside Whimsy has already reached number one on US Apple Music. Several listeners praised the album as a strong return while a smaller number called its length and consistency a drawback.
