How one woman’s Tesla was remotely controlled and used to harass her

techSep 9, 20261775

Enrico Pucci remotely accessed his former partner Stacey’s Tesla via the car’s app and a newly added parental control profile, using it to alter speed, locks, climate and curfew settings and to trigger the alarm. Stacey first noticed the alarm sounding at night and on 1 November 2025 found the dashboard reset and a parental control profile she could not access. Between 6 and 12 November 2025 Pucci repeatedly switched the car’s temperature between extreme hot and cold and activated Valet Mode, which reduced the car’s speed to 40 km per hour, creating safety risks on the road. Police documents record Pucci telling Stacey “You thought you’d get away with this. I am in your car. I am in your maps,” and say he was the only person with app access, causing her significant stress and fear for her physical safety. The documents also detail four years of coercive and controlling conduct, including forging employment opportunities to create dependency and a March 2020 incident in which Pucci forcibly removed the victim from a car and drove off with her child. Pucci pleaded guilty to 30 domestic violence related charges, including using the Tesla app to harass Stacey, and Judge Peter Feather at Parramatta local court sentenced him to two years and three months imprisonment with a non-parole period of 15 months. The conviction treats the remote manipulation of the vehicle as part of a pattern of coercive control rather than an isolated technical misuse.

So scary. Convicted of 30 #DV charges including #CoerciveControl, disgraced businessman “Enrico Pucci was able to control his former partner’s electric car remotely, controlling its speed, temperature settings and lock. “ Imagine what that would be like 😭😳! www.theguardian.com/australia-ne...
