The United States Air Force F-16 Demonstration Team will not take part in the 2026 Canadian International Air Show, CIAS organizers announced on social media, saying the cancellation was beyond the institution's control. The change is a last-minute alteration to the CIAS lineup as the 77th edition runs Sept. 5 to 7 from 12 p.m. to 3:40 p.m. daily on the Toronto waterfront. Organizers noted no further details about the F-16 team's withdrawal, which coincides with rising tensions between Canada and the United States, including a recent breakdown in trade talks and a U.S. executive order renaming Lake Ontario. CIAS is adding four acts to the 2026 program, Redline Airshows, the Beechcraft Expeditor, the T-33, and the CP-140 Aurora, all returning after hiatuses. Despite the removal of the USAF team, organizers said the event is still expected to draw large crowds and warned that premium viewing areas and some ticket tiers are nearly sold out.
