Channel 4 sting targets James Orr over Reform UK funding

politicsSep 3, 2026593,856

Undercover Channel 4 footage and a Verbatim Investigations sting captured Reform UK head of policy James Orr discussing strategies to channel funding and keep donors hidden, including saying the party could "easily get away with it" because the Electoral Commission were "dumb and ineffective." The investigation also filmed Nigel Farage, chief of staff Dan Jukes and James Johnson in discussions about fundraising; Channel 4 asked them for a response and says the allegations are denied in full. Verbatim released a 37 minute exposé and a full video of the operation. Separately, Reform UK has been reported to the Metropolitan Police over claims that opinion polling was paid for by a foreign donor. Orr is identified in coverage as an associate professor and Cambridge-trained theologian who plays a central policy and fundraising role for the party. Major outlets including the Financial Times and Byline Times have published profiles and follow-up reporting, and investigators and journalists are pressing for further official scrutiny of possible breaches of electoral law.

The full report is utterly damning. Farage's policy chief James Orr boasts that they can "easily get away with it" because the Electoral Commission are so "dumb and ineffective" youtu.be/aXut3s90rUI?...
