JD Vance says he's doing 'God's work' even if it leads to the end times

On an evangelical podcast with host Bryce Crawford, Vice-President JD Vance said he is "doing as much of God's work as possible" and that he is OK "if that leads to the end times," adding he would be "not shocked if the antichrist was walking among us." Vance, who published a spiritual memoir earlier this summer about his conversion to Catholicism, said he is fascinated by Christian prophetic ideas but warned against overfocusing on them. He gave artificial intelligence as an example of modern dangers, calling an acquaintance who uses AI as a marriage counselor "kind of satanic" and saying divorcing humans from social life is "very bad." Vance said he had "been in meetings with world leaders" that felt "spiritually dark," describing statements that set off "every spiritual alarm bell in my body." He defended Donald Trump after the president posted then deleted an AI-generated image of himself as Jesus, saying Trump did not mean offense and has a good sense of humor. The remarks foreground Vance's recent public emphasis on personal faith while engaging in political conversations about technology, leadership, and Trump.
