JD Vance says he's doing 'God's work' even if it leads to the end times
Important to understand the current state of US. I am now in a lecture @europeanisa.bsky.social talking of American tradition that "sees US not as a liberal democracy but as Christian nation with traditiin of racial, religious & gender hierarchies" www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026...
The Christian Nationalist strain of US culture is so incredibly dangerous. It removes inhibitions on dangerous rhetoric under the guise of organised religion. JD Vance is the most dangerous man in America outside Trump.
The US resembles Henry VIII's court more closely every day. It is run by a King they can't get rid of who doesn't believe in God but uses religion to justify his draconian actions. We must resist their desire for unbridled power dressed up as religion.
I don't think those things are mutually exclusive tbf. They are very well established traditions in the US. That isn't a good thing. But they are established and institutionalised.
Authors and journalists have warn of this for some time e.g. Chris Hedges' "American Fascists" (2010) and more recently Al Jazeera's "Praying for Armageddon". Makes you question the 26 permanent seats in House of Lords reserved for the church, no? www.youtube.com/watch?v=IhT7...
Terrifying ideology. Vance has four children - what are they learning?
JD Vance: if his work "leads us to the end times, that's ok." www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026...
As if one needed more evidence that it’s a cult.
Has anyone told him that Catholics don't believe in the End Times?
That’s some serious Jonestown Massacre shit
Clear sign that he SAYS he's Catholic, but that end times shit is not, he's a fundamentalist evangelical who pretends to be Catholic for reasons I'll never understand.
