Ruben Amorim’s first match as AC Milan manager ended in a 2-1 Serie A win at Torino. After a quiet first half, Milan took control early in the second half and opened the scoring through Alphadjo Cisse following a series of substitutions. Two minutes later Adrien Rabiot doubled the visitors’ lead by escaping his marker and finishing at the far post from a cross. Torino salvaged a late consolation in stoppage time when Gvidas Gineitis delivered a left-sided set-piece and Che Adams improvised a back-to-goal finish into the net. Gineitis had started and played the full 90 minutes and also received the match’s only yellow card after a foul by Ruben Loftus-Cheek. Torino travel to Sassuolo in the Serie A second round next Saturday.
