Primetime trailer: Robert Pattinson plays Chris Hansen
Here’s the trailer for “Primetime,” starring Robert Pattinson as Chris Hansen from “To Catch a Predator”
Chris Hansen hearing Robert Pattinson was going to play him, “how cool is that?” Chris Hansen seeing the trailer:
Watched the Odyssey a few weeks ago and The Drama last night. I think Robert Pattinson is coming for an Oscar nom if not a win this year. He may be the most compelling actor of his generation. He’s becoming my favorite actor working today.
Needs a scene about how they got the idea to have a cop dressed up as a fake bush
This is an SNL skit?
A24, so I have to wonder how much AI was used for this film, since they're pro-AI. I used to be a big fan, but I can't stomach that bullshit.
If only Hansen wasn't ultra pro ICE
Pattinson can’t stop playing conniving little freaks
I have a question lmao
people are gonna be so normal about this movie once its out
i wasnt interested in this movie when i first heard about it but learning that it's basically nightcrawler 2 has me leaning forward in my chair
im so freaking excited for this
Normally against “based on a true story” movies, but this looks absolutely wild.
Robert Pattinson’s acting evolution has been so insane to see I love it
Y A L L OMG
this movie seems fine but it’s very rude of them to do a period piece about a time period that I was alive for and have full memories of
I have surprised myself in that watching this absurdly intense trailer, I want to watch the movie. Not sure the last time I reacted that way to a trailer. I usually find trailers overdone.
“Phoebe Bridgers is in the Robert Pattinson Chris Hansen biopic” - statements dreamed up by the utterly deranged
i am compelled to watch this movie just to understand its casting director's beautiful mind
Phoebe Bridgers, Skyler Gisondo, Robert Pattinson -- they really know how to come for A Certain Audience (me)
And Bridgers got the film's director to direct her most recent music video. I am ready for my sad queen's return.
It’s gonna be a good movie probably
I wasn't expecting such a hungry guy
IM LOCKED THE FUCK IN.
Robert Pattinson as Chris Hansen catching a pedophile in his new film ‘PRIMETIME’. “You see how this looks right?”
This is without a doubt one of the worst movie teasers I have ever seen. Was this made in fucking Blender?
Rob's voice range is CRAAAZY. So talented.
So THATS why he wasnt in Brand New Day
Chris Hansen was instrumental in my choices as a young girl. Because of him I knew the signs of a predator and how to get them to back off.
If TCaP was still around now they'd be catching a bunch of MAGA official. I wonder how many they did catch who aren't in jail are J6ers
the crossover energy here is off the charts. batman really said “take a seat.”
Does anyone remember how the original To Catch a Predator was cancelled? There was a sting operation in Texas back in 2006 that targeted Asssitant District Attorney Bill Conradt. Usually the predators come to a fake home to meet kids but this time Police and Dateline arrived at the ADA’s house with
Can’t really think of a better focal point to use as a way of tracking Americas descent into complete obsession with spectacle than Chris Hansen and to catch a predator. Pretty positive that’s what this movie is gonna go for
The 4:3 renaissance is coming
If you told me 20 years ago Edward from Twilight was gonna be the greatest actor of the 2020s I would've gone comatose from laughter. God just insane range.
SOMEBODY GET THESE PREDATORS OUTTA HERE!!!!
double-bill this with SERIES 7: THE CONTENDERS and you will look like a genius
Fuck off, use a movie aspect ratio
12 investigations 238 apprehensions & arrests 120 convictions Only 1 su*cide. Those are rookie numbers. We can do better this time. Bring it back.
he’s the best to ever do it
I'm sure bringing this back into the public consciousness in the current political climate won't cause any problems.
Robert Pattinson stars as ‘To Catch a Predator’ host Chris Hansen in the all-new trailer for #Primetime. In theaters September 25.
The moment I saw it was starring R Pattz I was in lol
what if we didn't do this one, have we considered that path
I call u Chris handsome
A24? The ai slop company? No thanks.
I love that Robert Pattinson just wants to play sickos.
I really can't tell if modern movies are real or SNL sketches anymore.
as the kids say, I will be buying a ticket and sitting in the theater
"What you are doing is more than acting... You are cleansing the world--of an ancient evil!" - A quote from the Chris Hansen movie, somehow
was skeptical when i first heard about this but looks good….you know i love me a media satire
gaggg + tá na hora de se falar da espetacularização do abuso sexual infantil e que grande parte do discurso em torno do caso epstein tomou o caso como entretenimento-fofoca-voyeurismo, espero que o filme ajude a circular essa conversa
Robert Pattinson continues to do extremely interesting roles and I don't think people realize quite how much insanity and legal quagmires surrounded this show.
Foolishly thought this was just going to be a straightforward biopic and not a new Pattinson little guy in a freak feverdream
This does feel like the most The Story Of Millennialism combo of star + story
oh heck yeah. (that PREDATORS documentary was extremely upsetting, I'm very curious what a dramatic, stylized take on the material will look like.)
Merritt clinched it for me
the only way they were ever going to make me interested in this movie was by casted our beloved lunatic rpattz
STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING ROBERT PATTINSON IS CHRIS HANSEN THE INTERNET IS FOLDING IN ON ITSELF youtu.be/5fHXyqQOKL8?...
Merritt Weaver is in this too! love a classic Merritt Weaver performance.
that was super creepy, I'm so glad the singularity will be creepy
This is going to be amazing go big Rob
the voice. just so close and gave me chills.
One of the creepiest trailers I’ve seen in a sec.
i'm going to take a seat right over here
oh This does not look like a positive portrayal... Good
Imagine if this ended with a post-credits stinger of Chris being told about the Roblox Initiative... #FizzVsGaming
JESSE PINKMAN YELL: "HE MUST KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH THIS!!"
This shot in the trailer for Primetime is bringing me back. This would be fall 2006, my first year covering TV for IGN. This is when The CW launched, as shows like Supernatural (WB) and Veronica Mars (UPN) moved to their new home. But who the hell left the S off the end of Survivor: Cook Islands!?
As several people have noted, but @brendannoel.bsky.social pointed it out to me first, Joey should not be included in this image, as it was cancelled earlier in 2006. MOVIE RUINED!!!!!!!! (unless the film posits Jeff Zucker desperately wanted to bring it back but ultimately did not)
It still amazes me that 30 Rock--which was considered DOA because of Sunset Strip's similar premise and prestige pedigree--went on to have multiple seasons and is considered one of the best workplace sitcoms of all time, while Sunset Strip... poofed away.
How did the cancelled “Joey” get left on the board?
It's so discombobulating because there are a buncha shows that are "of an era" (30 Rock, Studio 60, Ugly Betty) and then a buncha shows that are *still on* 20 years later! All in one schedule! Madness!
Memo to any film critics: If you can't identify and give key pieces of information about "Raines," "Big Day" and "Kidnapped," you're unqualified to review "Primetime." Sorry. I don't make the rules. Actually, yes I do. And them's the rules.
Pretty sure the guy staring at the scheduling board is supposed to be —or at least invoke— Jeff Zucker (who’s a bit more supersized here than he was in real life back then.)
Lots of "let's remember some shows" material in this shot. Raines! Kidnapped/Vanished! Justice!
Only tangentially related but I feel like Jeff Zucker's role in the diminution of NBC primetime has receded in the furthest corners of everyone's mind.
This shot is a Time Machine.
The full shot is even better. We used to build things.
30 Rock followed by more serious 30 rock (studio 60) was a lineup i wish we had longer
I am crying, my Live Journal posts about these shows are locked down somewhere no one will ever see.
I just saw the trailer for Primetime, and I think that at this point Robert Pattinson should just get right of first refusal for every role in every movie from now on. Whatever he wants to do, let's just let him have a go at it and see what happens.
You'll all love to learn that I accidentally pasted this post into a work meeting (consult, not a therapy client) instead of a resource link I wanted to share. I am very professional. I suppose there are worse posts I could've put in there.
let's see Ocean's 13 with 13 Roberts Pattinson
No idea who he is
Someone on a podcast said his mouth looks like it has too many teeth but in a good way and that it worked well for both vampire and for Antinous but for different reasons Anyways I love his goblin energy
Watched the Odyssey a few weeks ago and The Drama last night. I think Robert Pattinson is coming for an Oscar nom if not a win this year. He may be the most compelling actor of his generation. He’s becoming my favorite actor working today.
I love when actors get enough money from one ridiculously successful project that they can spend the rest of their careers being weird little guys. Well, weird conventionally attractive guys in RPatt's case. But the point stands.
He’s been on an incredible run. Every role feels completely different, and he keeps taking interesting risks.
And he's got Dune 3 coming out at the end of the year!
His nailed the villain role in The Devil All the Time.
