Spider-Man: Brand New Day gets lowest critics' score of Tom Holland Spideys

Spider-Man: Brand New Day opened to critics as the lowest-ranked Tom Holland Spider-Man film on Rotten Tomatoes, sitting at 90% on the Tomatometer based on 120 reviews after an initial 92% reading. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the movie picks up four years after 2021’s No Way Home and follows Peter Parker as he lives a lonely life forgotten by MJ and Ned while facing a new, formidable villain and increasingly erratic spider-senses. The review embargo lifted Tuesday at 9 a.m. ET after critics’ screenings the previous night, and the film begins preview screenings Thursday ahead of its nationwide release Friday. By comparison, No Way Home holds a 93% critics’ score on RT, Homecoming is at 92%, and Far From Home is at 91% for Holland’s solo Spider-Man films. No Way Home also remains the series’ highest grosser at $1.9 billion worldwide. Critics overall have praised the film’s more grounded, street-level tone even as the Tomatometer places it below Holland’s earlier entries; the RT score could still change as Thursday previews and the wide release add more reviews.

Yeah the Raimi movies are canonical, same with the Webb movies and I guess now at least the first two Deadpools and whatever X-Men timeline those take place in. Which i have a feeling they'll simplify it, largely ignore the post DoFP movies and just say all the stuff happens in the DP timeline.

I just stick to the Grant Morrison philosophy of every comic book story is canon by virtue of it existing. Doesn’t matter if it’s a different era, creative team, medium, etc., all superhero stories are canon.
