journalismJul 27, 202642314

A Reuters/Ipsos poll released July 27 found just 33% of Americans support the U.S. war with Iran, the lowest Reuters/Ipsos reading since the five-month-old conflict's early days. The poll found 69% of Americans say President Donald Trump has not clearly explained the goals of U.S. military involvement in Iran, a view shared by about four in 10 Republicans. The survey showed Trump’s overall approval rose to 37%, up three percentage points from last month. Independent registered voters in the poll favored the Democratic congressional candidate 36% to 20% over the Republican. Reporting on the poll was by Jason Lange and Bo Erickson in Washington.
