St. Louis City beat the Colorado Rapids 1-0 as Tomáš Ostrák curled a long-range winner in the 83rd minute. Colorado went down to 10 men in the 12th minute after Rob Holding received a straight red for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity on Sangbin Jeong, forcing City to chase a goal for much of the match. Manager Yoann Damet started Jaziel Orozco in a back three with Timo Baumgartl and Dante Polvara, and rotated Eduard Löwen out of the lineup; Löwen entered as a 58th-minute substitute. Simon Becher had a disallowed goal around the 50th minute for offside and Sangbin Jeong hit the crossbar in the first half, but City generated little else until Ostrák’s strike. The win is St. Louis City’s fourth straight and extends their unbeaten run to eight matches in all competitions, a run that figures to lift them back into the playoff picture. After the match Damet downplayed the result as “nothing special.”
